About the exhibition

For the historical park “Russia is My History” – the multimedia interactive exhibition “Alexander Nevsky: The Fate of Russia” is timed to the 800th anniversary of the birth of the Russian prince.
The exhibition was created in a collaboration with the Italian agency “Balich Wonder Studio”.

The concept is based on the edutainment approach, where the learning process turns into entertainment. From the moment of entering the exhibition, guests find themselves in the epoch of the XIII century, when Alexander Nevsky lived.
The key events of the prince’s life are shown with the help of video projections, large-scale models of Old Russian cities, holographic battles, and immersive theater.

A special feature of the exhibition was the main narrative created with the help of a “revived” comic book. The viewer literally enters the drawn story, becoming a full participant of historical events. This is the first such experience of using the graphic novel concept in Russia.
The drawn story became the main line telling about Alexander Nevsky’s life from birth to death. With the help of animation we showed the city life of Veliky Novgorod, family scenes, military life, battles and other stages of the prince’s life.
Subsequently, it was the comic exhibition that was separated into a separate mobile exposition, which was shown in 23 cities of Russia.

The logical conclusion of the exhibition project was the creation of a printed graphic novel with an interactive addition in the form of a soundtrack recorded with a symphony orchestra.
A year later, the historical comic was presented at the “Red Square” festival in Moscow. The graphic novel with an edition of 6,000 copies was printed and put on sale both in offline stores and on online platforms.
Another year later, our team released the comic in an online format, accompanied by a documentary about the making of the graphic novel.
